Mount Vernon Encampment

 On Friday evening May 3rd, there will be a mandatory officer meeting. Every unit is to send their military leader along with one of their camp followers to this meeting. At the meeting we will be discussing the changes that have been put into place due to the issues that occurred during the 2023 event.
 2. Beginning this year, the policy of no facial hair greater than a 
three (3) days growth will be permitted.
 3. We were informed that the MV farm staff will no longer allow 
reenactors to use the farm area for the horses. Everything 
must be contained to the 12-acre field, this would include all 
the horses. After discussion, it was agreed that due to the 
lack of ample shade and a lack of a close water source, that 
we would not be able to support the horses in the main camp 
area. The space that we have would be too congested with 
cook areas and such to be able to keep the horses in a 
private/quiet area. Therefore, we will be unable to have 
horses attend the event. This was not an easy decision as the 
dragoons have always added something special to the event 
and the crowd always enjoyed their presence.
