Patriots along the Perkiomen is back by popular demand by Historic Pennypacker Mills, the public, and the members of the living history community who participated last year. 

The 2023 iteration of the event was the site's first Revolutionary War living history program in nearly 35 years. The site itself has deep significance to the Philadelphia Campaign as Washington's Army encamped on the property and nearby environs before and after the Battle of Germantown (September 26-October 8, 1777). Significant courts martial were held here during that period, wounded were cared for, and several who perished as result of those injuries were buried on the property, where they remain to this day. 

Spencer's Additional Continental Regiment is proud to partner once again with the site as the host unit and to invite all of you to join us for a most enjoyable weekend. 

This event is designed as a Continental forces only encampment in order to better portray the actual history that took place on the grounds. The May date was selected again this year so as not to compete with the many other events already taking place in the fall. 

Highlights include intensive drill scenarios, recreation of one of the courts martial held at Pennypacker Mills in 1777, camp life and visits to the graves of the Continental soldiers who fell during the Philadelphia campaign with period memorial services for them. 

All branches of service are welcome to attend. Wood, water, and toilet facilities will be provided. The site itself is gorgeous and consists of several hundred acres of field and woodlands nestled along the banks of the Perkiomen Creek with minimal modern intrusions. 

This site is administered by Montgomery County site and it requires participants to sign a waiver form. This form will be consistent with what participants signed last year. I will make it available to unit POCs and commanders for review as soon as possible. In its final form, that document would be distributed and collected by county personnel at the event.
