Return to the Mohawk

  "Return to the Mohawk" at Herkimer Home State Historical Site, Little Falls, NY                 September 9-10, 2023                        100+ acres of fields, woods, hills and water, this is a landscape to fill any reenactor's needs.   In center of it all is the home of General Nicholas Herkimer overlooking the Mohawk River.  Saturday: Morning “Raid on Herkimer Flatts” The Crown forces will march a 2+ mile march onto the lower field along the banks of the Mohawk River to find a wait force of Continental and Militia. Afternoon “The Ambush” prelude to 250th of Oriskany where Genl Herkimer was mortally wounded and brought back to fade into history in the dining room of his home.  The local Continental and Militia is heading to relieve Fort Schuyler on one of several paths that run through the grounds, while the public following along.  When the Crown’s men and allies attack, this where we need to emphasize the acting of reenacting, Other activities included: program presenters and maybe tasting of the local brewery we would also like to highlight your camp program, please let us know and will list it in the public program! Sunday: Morning “Tactical in the Wooded Hills” (Junior Officer command) behind the encampments this will be objective tactical also at that time (as we are on the Mohawk River and the site has a dock), we can have a naval battle for those who wish to bring their gunboats. Early afternoon performance of Saturday afternoon’s “The Ambush”. We will have an early departure so hopefully you will be home at a reasonable hour!
