Battle of Chase Farm

Assault on Fort Mercer

October 22, 2017 - Join in the commemoration of the 1777 assault on Fort Mercer of the grounds surrounding the original fort in Red Bank Battle Field Park, National Park, NJ.   The 240th anniversary of this important Philadelphia Campaign attack should be an especially interesting and action-filled event.  Your unit will receive a stipend for each uniformed soldier present on the field and significant additional funds for artillery.  Sutlers and craft people will be set up among the exhibitors near the historic Whitall House as well.  For more information contact Paul Loane at history1@comcast.net  or use the "Contact Us" form below.  The registration form is attached below and should be returned by August 1, 2017

Revolutionary War Field Days at Historic Camden

November 3 to 5, 2017 - Historic Camden's annual signature event, held the first weekend in November, is Revolutionary War Field Days.   Reenactors from more than 20 states gather on Friday to set up both British and Continental camps for one of the oldest Revolutionary War reenactments in the United States.  Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site is a 107 acre outdoor museum complex that offers a view of life during the Colonial and Revolutionary War periods in Camden and Kershaw Counties.  Included are two circa-1800 log houses that contain exhibits, the restored and refurbished 1785 John Craven House, the 1830 Cunningham house (office/gift shop) a blacksmith shed with working traditional forge, the yet-to-be restored 1795 McCaa house, reconstructions of some of the fortifications built by the British and the reconstructed colonial Georgian house built by Joseph Kershaw, commandeered as headquarters by Charles Lord Cornwallis during the British occupation of Camden in 1780-1781.  Visit the Facebook website https:/www.facebook.com/groups/revwarcamden/  or the website www.historiccamden.org   For more information contact Erick Nason ( ericknason@msn.com ) or Alexis Dekeyser ( jager1776@earthlink.net )  or use the "contact us" form below.

Hope Lodge Encampment

Home from the War

November 18 & 19, 2017 - Fauquier County Militiaman Spencer Withers wrote in his pension application after the Revolutionary War that in 1781 he was "From York [town] he marched with prisoners towards Winchester and ws discharged at Ashby's Gap about Christmass[sic]"   The 2nd Virginia Regiment will interpret this period after the Siege of Yorktown with a march along period roads to Sky Meadows State Park, where they will portray the men and women of Fauquier County as they transition back from military service to civilian life.   Watch soldiers drill and cooking demonstrations in a period log cabin.   Sponsored by the Brigade of the American Revolution and 2nd Virginia Regiment.    From November 18, 2017 10 AM to November 19, 2017 2 PM

American Heritage Festival

Come celebrate history at the American Heritage Festival on Friday, December 1st through Sunday December 3rd in Lake City, SC! Battle reenactments, wander through a colonial Christmas village and visit merchants.   Grab a beer in the party tent, listen to the speakers and enjoy the bands.  Be sure to attend the Saturday evening torch-lit parade and night firing of muskets and cannons during the "Night of Light" festivities.

January 13 & 14, 2018 - The Brigade of the American Revolution Southern Region and 1st Continental Artillery Regiment (Harrison's Regiment) will be hosting a weekend-long School of Artillery at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown.  This 2-day event will include scholarly lectures, practical "best practices", roundtable discussion and hands-on sessions on the application of the military science of artillery during the American Revolution, and the finer points interpreting it accurately and safely through living history.  This event will be invitational to the British Brigade and The Continental Line member units as well.   Hosted by the Brigade of the American Revolution and 1st Continental Artillery Regiment.   January 13, 2018 9 AM to January 14, 2018 4 PM

"A Call to Arms" Revolutionary War Weekend

By Invitation Only - George  Washington's Mount Vernon cordially serves as host while the reenactors camp on the same ground walked by Washington himself.  This historic location will have thousands of spectators on the two days, all looking to learn more history and witness exciting battles including infantry, cavalry and artillery.   There will be a special house tour for reenactors in period dress on Friday night as well as a discount in the gift shops.

Defiance and Independence

2018 EVENT - INVITATON ONLY July 20 to 22, 2018  -  Over 2000 acres of land are part of this beautiful site.   The Americans will garrison the fort and the Crown forces will be outside the fort in the battlefield.   Brush can be cut to make huts.   Saturday morning will be a private battle for reenactors, with a public battle on Saturday afternoon.    The artillery will positioned on top of Mount Defiance.   Sunday will see the taking of the outer works, pushing the Americans down to the lake.   There is a possibility of a boat landing.   Dress will be early war militia kit.  Clothing guidelines  will be published on the website.   For more information, contact Bob Allegretto ( 2dragoon@comcast.net ) or Paul Novotny ( pnovotny@nycap.rr.com )

Redcoats to Rebels

BY INVITATION ONLY, August 4, 5 & 6, 2017 - Camp out at the premier historical site of New England, Old Sturbridge Village.  The "Redcoats to Rebels" weekend is the largest reenactment in New England each year and is attended by over 4,000 spectators and visitors.    There will be demonstrations, battles, skirmishes and a jollification at the Bullard Tavern on Saturday night.  A new updated description of this event can be found at https://www.osv.org/event/redcoats-rebels  This year the event will be hosted by 85eme Regiment de Saintonge and HM 10th Foot.

Battle of Mount Harmon

Market Fair at Endview Plantation
